Privacy

Privacy, in plain language

Statfeed runs entirely on your PC. There's no account system, nothing about your matches is ever uploaded, and there is no analytics or tracking library in the app. There are two narrow exceptions, both described below: a version check that isn't live yet, and a page where the author shows his own matches from his own PC. Neither one carries anything about yours.

What stays on your machine

  • Every match you play — casual included: score, goals, touches, boost, ratings.
  • The Statfeed Score computed for each match.
  • The raw event log Statfeed captures from the game's Stats API.
  • Any rank you type in by hand.

All of it lives in a local SQLite database and a local raw log file, both on your own disk. None of it is sent anywhere, by default or otherwise. Uninstalling Statfeed or deleting its data folder removes all of it — we don't keep a copy, because we never had one to begin with.

The one exception: the update check

Status today: not live. Statfeed doesn't yet have an auto-updater or installer (see Download), so right now nothing at all leaves your machine — there isn't even a check to leave it. This section describes exactly what will happen once that ships, so there's no surprise later.

When the update check goes live, here's the complete list of what it does:

  • On startup, the app pings a Statfeed server to ask "is there a newer version?"
  • The ping carries the app's version number. Nothing else — no match data, no player names, no account identifier (there is no account).
  • Like any request on the internet, it necessarily reaches our server over the network. We don't log or retain anything from it beyond a count of active instances.
  • That count is the only metric we use to gauge whether Statfeed is being used enough to justify building anything beyond the local app — a fixed, public threshold (1,000 active instances/week, sustained for about a month) before any cloud feature gets built. No match data ever factors into that number.

This is a fixed, public threshold — 1,000 active weekly instances, sustained for about a month — published before any cloud feature gets built. The update check is the only server-side infrastructure your copy of Statfeed talks to. The author's page, described below, is a file on this website: your copy of the app never contacts it. Full criteria: ADR 0004.

The author's own live page

On statfeed.gg/live-preview, the author of Statfeed puts his own Rocket League sessions on screen, captured on his own PC, so you can watch the HUD work before installing anything. It's his data, his machine, his call — and what's on screen is the whole HUD, unfiltered, losing streaks included.

Status today: recorded, not live. The page replays sessions that already happened, each one stamped with the date it was played. Nothing is streaming while you watch. If that ever changes, the badge inside the frame says which one you're getting, and this section changes with it.

Your copy of Statfeed never does this. The app has no broadcast feature, no setting that turns one on, and no server to send anything to. The author publishes his own sessions as files on this website, deliberately, one at a time.

The other players in those matches never reach this website. Their names are swapped for synthetic ones on the author's PC before anything leaves it, and their platform IDs are dropped entirely — so this site never receives either one. New synthetic names are drawn every session, so nothing on the page links one session to the next.

Recordings are kept for 90 days and then dropped. They are never sold, never shared, and never used to train anything. If you played in one of those matches and want the recording gone, write to privacy@statfeed.gg — it's one file per session, so taking one down takes seconds.

What we don't do

  • No accounts, no login, no password to leak.
  • No ads, no ad SDKs, no ad-tech pixels.
  • No selling or sharing of data — there's nothing collected to sell.
  • No analytics, crash reporting, or tracking library bundled into the app.
  • No cloud sync of your matches today. If that ever changes, it will be opt-in and announced as a separate feature, not folded quietly into an update.

Questions

This page describes Statfeed as it works right now. If anything above ever changes, this page changes with it — and the change gets called out, not buried.
